Fall Newsletter
It has been a busy two months in LA. Over the last six weeks I participated in THREE wonderful fundraisers .The first one was at the Peninsula hotel and was for an organization called “A Window Between Two Worlds“, a non-profit organization dedicated to using art as a healing tool for survivors of domestic violence. The second was in a beautiful home in Malibu and was organized by Deborah Daine to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu. The third one was at a beautiful showroom in Culver City called Room and Board and was organized by my friend Trine Churchill to raise money for LA Family Housing. 90 artists donated their work and it was a great success. I am happy to say that my little piece sold before the show even opened!!
Last month I had a wonderful photo shoot in my studio. My friend Jean Shum is a clothing designer and has designed a few dresses that I just LOVE. She will be launching her line very soon: http://www.jeanjoan.com. The shoot included the daughter of Jean’s friend Jo Cho, who is a talented ballerina. I love how all the colors and movement coalesced in some great shots. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE collaborating with other artists and creatives. Jean and I are actually working on a few dresses where my art will be printed on fabric and integrated into the design. More about that in the coming months!!!
Last week I bought a hand bag from a new friend Laura Shnitzer. Laura has a company called “Eco Pet Handbags”.
Eco Pet Handbags is a unique and innovative handbag line made from up-cycled pet food bags, fabulous designer and vintage fabrics as well as other reclaimed materials. They are one of a kind, hand crafted creations made in Los Angeles. A portion of every sale is donated to animal shelters and rescue organizations. Here is the link to her site: www.ecopethandbags.com/The bag I bought has a wolf on it that I ADORE.. We had so much fun taking pictures and hanging out in my studio this week.
