Abstract Landscapes

“Abstract Landscapes” emerged after a trip to Costa Rica. These paintings are evocations of sky, earth, water, and mountain. Rather than depict a specific place, they express a felt sense of expansion and freedom — the boundless energy of nature translated into form and color. Subtle shifts of cerulean, turquoise, emerald, cobalt, and saphire echo the play of light across water and the ever-changing moods of the sea while warm yellows, vermilion and peach tones, echo the memory of luminous sunrises and sunsets.
